Why is everything black and white and not in shades of gray?

I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately, as long as there has been a democracy, the opposition has always demonized the party in power and vice versa. Even Winston Churchill spent years in the opposition throwing rocks at the party in power, (of course with Neville Chamberlain appeasing Hitler and declaring "peace in our time", they deserved to have rocks thrown at them.) I really don't know if politics is really more nasty or just seems more vivid because it is happening now.
