This isnt a question, just wanted to know what people would say?

Okay my dad got the swine flu shot in 76' and he is fine. Nothing wrong, he is 56 and is fine. No long term effects... so... why is it any different...? He didnt get GBS either.... so... Idk... Is there any dif. in this if it is basically like the normal flu shot? (My mom witnessed her friend's cousin die because swine flu, I got the shot to be safe.. was I really being safe?)
