New Plymouth Welcome for Kayakers?

I was very lucky along with my lovely partner Lorna to be at the Ngamotu beach on Sunday 13th of January 2008 to accnolage the heroic efforts of the two Aussie Kayakers in their feat of crossing the Tasman sea. The welcome was absolutely huge by the Naki people and something I will remember for many a year. Can you imagine Kiwis cheering for Aussies , well I didn't but yesterday it showed how huge us kiwis are when we acknbowledge this effort. Bet Robbie Deans doesn't get this welcome should australia win the 2001 Cup.
