I really like this girl... she said she was interested in another guy but we found a lot in common what to do?

yeah this girl is really sweet, funny, and she has a great smile when she actually does smile... i havent seen her laugh yet but i will probably drop my jaw... im so head over heels for this girl... she told me she was single but pursuing this guy, we talked throughout the day and slowly but surely found out we went to elementary school together howerver she was a year behind me but had a couple of the same teachers. she keeps talking to me through text (the main line of communication)... I met her in confirmation, and she is a real sweetheart shes not shallow (thus my interest) and shes really beautiful... smart, funny, and just all around the perfect package. I've somewhat hinted at the fact that i liked her however i was nervous to even think of saying it... if i said: "im sure you picked up on it but i really kind of like you" would it be too straightforward or would it be just perfect or would it maybe be a bad idea to begin with... she gets my sense of humor for the most part and i dont know her very well but we have been through alot the past year...
