The romans were pretty cluey about races?

the occupied israel and created the name Palestinians, they knew what a jew was and they knew that arabs came from arab felix. We have a lot of roman records and none of them mention arabs being in israel. if this is the case why do muslims believe that israel isn't the home of the jews and that the arab Palestinians are later immigrants
