Did I do a mistake in marrying a man from another culture?

Ya think? It is always foolish to marry into a culture you know next to nothing about, and even more foolish to marry someone you don't really know. You married him because he showed you how romantic he can be, and because of how he looks. Now you find out that he is behaving the same way that most men in the muslim culture treat their women. I doubt that marriage counseling will change his attitude, and what's to stop him from leaving your country with your child if he gets fed up with you enough? I wouldn't be in your shoes for anything.
